I’m licensed by the Maryland Board of Nursing. Before opening Zap Daddy, I spent a full year in training, with formal coursework, supervised clinical hours, and hands-on instruction in infection control and safe technique.
New York State doesn’t regulate electrolysis, which means anyone can legally buy a machine and start practicing. I chose to pursue education out of state to hold myself to a higher standard. My license is your assurance that I know how to permanently remove hair without injuring your skin, that I use medical-grade sterilization practices, and that I complete continuing education every year.
I’m trained in all electrolysis modalities: thermolysis, blend, and galvanic. They all work to permanently remove hair, but each has its own benefits, trade-offs, and contraindications. We’ll discuss these at your consultation and choose the approach that best fits your specific needs.
Yes! Helping people prepare for vaginoplasty, phalloplasty, and other procedures that require skin grafts is a big part of my practice.
If you’re getting ready for surgery, please reach out as early as possible so we can plan your treatment schedule and get you hair-free before the big day.
Yes! I regularly work with people who have PCOS and other hormone‑related conditions that cause unwanted hair. We’ll talk about your pattern of growth, what's worked (or hasn't) to manage it so far, and build a customized treatment plan for you.
Fun fact: long before I transitioned, I was diagnosed with PCOS. Strangely enough, I never minded the extra hair...
I’m not able to bill insurance directly, but many clients qualify for insurance reimbursement for electrolysis and I can provide a properly coded superbill for you to submit.
I know navigating insurance can be hard (been there!), and I’m happy to help however I can.
Maybe! Both electrolysis and laser can help with unwanted hair, but they work differently. Laser can be great for quickly reducing density in larger areas, especially if you have lighter skin and dark hair. Electrolysis is permanent and works on every hair and skin color.
If I think you might benefit from starting with laser, I’ll tell you that. My goal is to help you reach your hair removal goals regardless of how you get there.
Reach out through the contact form or send an email to hi@zapdaddy.studio to schedule a free consultation.
At your first visit, we’ll talk through your goals, review your medical history, and come up with a personalized treatment plan for you. I'll go over how electrolysis works and answer any questions you have. We’ll also do a brief sample treatment so you get a chance to experience the process and decide if it’s right for you!
